VisionFM and FMDepartment.com Technical Support Site - FMDepartment.com AutoCAD FAQs

Is AutoCAD part of the FMDepartment.com service?

AutoCAD is not included. To add drawings you will require a copy of AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT (version 2004 to 2010) on your computer.

Will I have to upload or download AutoCAD drawings?

The AutoCAD drawing files remain on your computer. Each time you save a drawing in AutoCAD, a viewer file is stored with your data on the FMDepartment.com servers. No uploading or downloading is required.

How fast is it to work in AutoCAD when I am connected to a web server?

The performance of FMDepartment.com is incredible. It should take no longer than one or two seconds to display information about any room or asset.

Can I use my existing AutoCAD layers?

Yes. In FMDepartment.com's AutoCAD interface, you can define your layer structure and which layers, highlighting any text you would like to make available in the drawing viewer.

Can I use my existing AutoCAD blocks?

Yes. You will need to define an asset standard (for example: an Air Conditioner) and then select your AutoCAD block that represents that type of asset.

Can I use AutoCAD Lite?

Yes, AutoCAD or AutoCAD Lite versions 2004 to 2010 can be used.
